Are you going to buy the next chapter?
Are you planning on buying the next chapter of Guild Wars after Night Fall?
I am not. This is why.
1. The chapters are creating diffusion of the player community. The loss of players is Ubiquitous in most areas of the game where solo play is undesirable. It is hurting the game more then anything else.
2. I have lost faith in game play being fun. Solo play is becoming unfeasible with the broken AI. I tend to solo because I have a lack of people to play with. Solo play has been ruined with the end game of Night Fall. Game play should never be so frustrating that I have to stop playing before I become angry.
3. I have lost faith in Guild Wars getting any better. The trends to counter mandate any creative tactics players develop to move efficiently throughout the game has been unyielding for any evidence of game play allowing for the freedom that drew me to guild wars to begin with. While alone this issue does not warrant a great deal of distress. When coupled with the others it resounds with impalpable value.
4. Solo play is diminished while team play is scarce. Not even the novel Heroes can grasp the tactics considered necessary associated with some vital builds. I observed Dunkoro kill himself with Offering of Blood. Zhed shadow hoof was noted killing himself with Ether Prodigy. They are not capable of timing, or using skills in tactful sequence.
5. The impression that I am being embittered is distressing. With the majority of games there is the tendency for the game to cheat in order to create the illusion of a challenge. With the continued efforts to diminish viable tactics forcing players to conform to stipulated tactics in order to play while creating overwhelming situations that limit the enjoyment of the game. I feel that the value of the game is greatly reduced of any actual viable intrigue.
True this sounds like more complaining.
The goal of this post is not to complain. It is to see if there is anyone else with points for, & counter points as to staying the course within Guild Wars. I want the desires of the players to speak true. If I do not belong in this community because it differs in desire with my ideal enjoyment of the sequential development of Guild Wars I want to know in order to assist me in making the decision of weather or not I should stop playing Guild Wars.

LOL: Ok this Post is a Standard Rant - Let's be Honest.
YESSSS I will be buying the Next Chapter - Can't Wait.. You Go Anet/NcSoft
Reality: 95% Of all MMO's are identical in theme of play. Hack/Slash gain XP buy/craft armor or weapons. As standard with those MMO's there are updates/patches that make people unhappy or thrilled - GW is no exception.
I've played a few MMO's and I can't think of any that I rather paly than GW. It has been one of the most balanced MMO's that I have ever played. The storyline is good and this is one of the better SOLO MMO's if you desire it. I play SOLO 80% of the time and I never have a problem except with DOA..
I realize people will complain it's almost human nature. I guess without chaos you can't have order.
Take Care..

No, I am not going to buy the next chapter.
When Nightfall was coming out, I wasnt that exited about it... but I still liked the game, and was planning to get the CE for it and buy it the day it came out (or the day after)
But when it did, I didnt have the money for it. But now, I am pretty glad that I didnt buy it when it released.
I've heard from a lot of friends and other sources that the game just really isnt worth it. I've heard about lots of bugs and problems with gameplay, and it seems replayability is getting worse and worse... The devs also seem more concentrated on putting the bandaids on small cuts, but paying little to no attention to the large flesh wounds in the game.. if you know what im trying to say... The game... just isn't fun for me anymore. I hav'nt logged in since the Halloween event, and will probably only log in when the Wintersday Event comes around.
So no, I am not going to buy Nightfall, or the next chapter. Sorry if I sound a little.. whinyish.. but it's just my opinion.

Unless Anet makes some changes in Nightfall, I won't be buying the next chapter.
It's too bad that Anet has chosen to depart from the formula that initally made the PvE side of the game such a success. Low lag, doable missions or quests, and lack of "grinding" was what attracted many to Prophecies. As one progressed through the game and leveled their character, each area presented the appropriate challenge for the average player. As would be expected, some players found ways to "exploit" the game while others tried to "shortcut" it. In both instances there came cries of the game being "too easy" on the one hand and "too hard" on the other.
Unfortunately, both Factions and Nightfall (which in themselves had great potential to carry on the original forumla) fell victim to Anet's attempt to "correct" perceived problems. Factions introduced fast leveling, a push towards PvP (with faction points and alliances), and the attempts to thwart exploits. As a result it also introduced more lag, a much greater degree of difficulty for the average player, grinding, and a total failure to stop exploits. It also did little to enhance the PvP portion of the game. Nightfall, it appears, has been given over to those that are the "hardcore" GW players (many of whom are the very exploiters that Anet tries so hard to thwart). It has tremendously increased lag (for a great many if you monitor chat much), become far too difficult for the average player, and introduced "grinding" as part of the game.
What Anet must realize is that fansite forums, especially this one, does not necessarily represent the vast number of average players. In fact, this fansite is actually responsible for promoting many of the "ills' that Anet seemingly wishes to correct. Many, if not most, exploits have their beginnings these very forums. It is not difficult to read about how "easy" it is to circumvent any part of the game, by the "regular" posters in these forums. In fact, there is a great deal of "bragging rights" obtained through announcing how one has found some way too gain an unfair avantage over other players through exploiting some aspect of the game. In many cases, these are the same players that complain about how the game is too easy!
Anet should make every attempt to return the game to it's original formula. Attempting to stop exploiters and cater to the "hardcore" GW players has only made the game far less enjoyable for most players. There are still those that are exploiting portions of the game, and the "hardcore" GW players are still not placated. Nightfall is an exercise in frustration for the average player. Rather than rely on fansite forums, have the GM's monitor chat and even engage in some dialog with players. I'm sure they would find that many long time GW players are sorely disappointed with the state of the game. Please, make the game"doable" for the average player, minimize the grinding, and make GW fun again.

Yes
Nightfall - I loved how the subtle improvements on the pve side of things, cleaver use of map zones, far better plot, hero system and the new armor / weapons system.
I love the fact with hero's I can solo so much more of the game than I could before much easier, especially in Tyria/Cantha.
I've like nightfall better then I did factions to be honest and factions was good enough for me to chance buying Nightfall.
Anet has me for another Collector's edition for Chapter 4.

I agree. These are exactly the reasons why I don't play the game anymore. Thank you for wording it out, very informative and well put. I'm not too good at that kinda stuff

I think I'll buy, but will watch closely what next chapter has to offer. I too was tired of GW's uninspiring gameplay, but after trying out Wow and Daoc and visit their fan sites, I realize other MMORPG have their problems. At least with GW I'm not bound to pay and play when I don't want to. Nerf bat in GW is also not as bad as in other games, because in other games you don't have the flexibility to change builds/classes, so nerfing means you'll either live with it, or have to start a new toon from level one. But at times I do wish GW's gameworld is more lively and has Daoc's Realm vs Realm like feature so it offers more replayability. In my opinions, GW is a game with a lot of untapped potentials and I'll give them another chance to fulfill some of those potentials.
Anet should create more gameplays that players with all skill levels can enjoy, and cater less to elite players. Right now, the skill-above-all philosophy of GW means that good players are having fun at the expense of beating bad players, who unfortunately make up majority of GW playerbase, and this needs to be adjusted if Anet still wants to retain casual players. Keep losing is no fun to anybody, and Anet needs to remember that.

I have to disagree with your statement: IMO - Nightfall has been one of the easiest chapter due to Hero's. I didn't see people complain about Nightfall being hard or just for the Hardcore players until this Elite Mission was released. What I usually heard in the Game was that Nightfall could be done with just heroes and Henchies - no pick up group needed. Yes by the way I have done the missions with just henchies and heroes as well.
The Elite Mission: Is the only Hardcore Part of Nightfall - Yes it's a part of the game I've given up on - just not worth it for me for a RT hero.
Take Care.

Maybe, depends on the new classes and skills for existing classes. Not impressed with many of the new skills for the old professions.
Also disappointed with the PvE mission format. After Factions took a step forward with 2 team cooperative missions and 12 person elite missions, I felt that Nightfall took a step back by just implementing lame monster-specific skills and global effects.
Ultimately though, it's because Guild Wars just isn't as fun as it used to be. While it's still my choice for MMO fix, there are other games I would rather play than bring another one of my characters through Nightfall.

Im not sure wether i will or not.. have to wait and see what new stuff gets added where the story goes.
Replay value will be a big issue for me and at the moment i have got 2 characters through nightfall and am really struggling to continue playing (havent even made a nightfall character yet).
I had high hopes for the new elite area but it's not what i was hoping for and a bit of a let down.. wether its hard or not it's just so uninteresting and bland, i admire those who can keep at it for 5 hours to complete 1 quest, but personally i couldnt bare to be in there for that long.
I loved playing prophecies and after finishing factions i went back to playing prophecies until nightfall came out which was a big improvement over factions but after making a awesome game like prophecies anet were always going to be hard pushed to top it.
I may just be bored after playing for so long.. the good thing is there is no monthly fee to pay so i can just quit playing whenever i feel like it and come back a month or even a year later and pick up where i left off.

Im not sure, i imagine ill get the next one but after that i might stop
Reasons:
Pros: Gw is an amzing game that i love to pieces and is the only regular online game i play. There are no mmorpgs as good as guildwars.
gw has a good lore and great storylines and an ever increasing amount of humor.
gw seems to be getting betta as a whole with every chapter
gw has some super easy bits and some super hards bits that keep gameplay entertaining
Cons:
The some of the small things that have been wanted for ages just havnt been improved, updated or added, eg. a bigger storage
gw is full of lots of annoying people who have no concept the the words: team, imagination, loyality or being nice to each other (but im sure that can be said for most mmorpgs)
the new chapters are coming too fast, i cant keep up with them at the rate there going
the wammo-need i say more

Most of your post tells me you're angry because you can't solo in a multiplayer game.
I beat the entire Nightfall campaign, with a Dervish, without ever playing with human players.
Yes, I even beat the last two missions. I also got 11/20 missions done with Master status on the first run, including "timed" bonuses(such as the last mission).
It's not hard to play this game solo, you just have to think outside the box.
